施設面会ができないので電話介護の日々。
「今日、家に寄って掃除してきたよ」「ありがとう」と95才の母は嬉しそうに答える。


本当は掃除には行っていない。
以前は月に一度二度の帰宅や、
ベランダの花の水やりに立ち寄ったりしてたが、
その花たちは我が家に引き取り行くことがなくなった。
噓も方便だ。
言葉ひとつで喜んでくれるのだ。


本日。配管業者の作業があるので立ち会うために久しぶりに家の扉を開けると、
うっ、なんだ、この臭いは！
おお、なんてことだ！
青カビがアチコチに。
今年の猛暑、一度も換気をしなかったせいだ。
本日、大掃除。
