平和と戦争を考えます、四作品。



初めて、戦争の物語を書いたのは2001年でした。
真珠湾攻撃に向かう潜水艦の中で伯父が書き綴った日記に触れたときに、伯父さんたちの青春を輝くものにしたいと思ったのがきっかけでした。


それまでは、戦争の物語というと、暗い、辛い、死にたい、そんなドラマや映画の印象があったのですが、あのときから僕はそうじゃないんだ、そこにはキラキラとした青春があるんだ、あったんだと訴えるようになりました。

 

そして、その人たちの青春を奪ったのが、戦争なのだ、だから戦争はクソなんだっと、
舞台の上から、笑いを交えて静かに叫ぶことにしました。
今回の「青空」「バンブー」そして謎の「眉毛一族」には同じ想いが詰まっております。



昨夜。「あたっくNo.1」の初演の台本を読み返した。
舞台で使っていた音源を流しながらページを大切にめくり、ENDを見つめた。
